My background includes visual merchandising, event management, graphic and web design and sign writing. After fifteen years working for a large corporate company, I decided to focus on my passion for Art and Design, and develop my own business. Studio Blue NZ was launched in early 2013 with the main focus on offering affordable website design and online marketing solutions to small to medium size businesses.
In 2016 I completed a Diploma in Computer Graphic Design at ACG Yoobee School of Design. Following that and keen for a new challenge, I took on two part time roles (Graphic Designer / Marketing Assistant at a North Canterbury winery, and Communications Manager for a nationwide fashion retailer) as well as continuing to support a variety of independent clients as a freelance designer.
Finding my Ikigai...the “happiness of being busy.”
Since March 2018 I've been located in Kaikōura, where I work part-time in a local retail store. This allows me to develop Studio Blue Creative,
and also make time to pursue my other passions, which include painting and other art. I love coastal life and a lot of my work is inspired by the beach and the ocean. (Check out my Surf Board Art)
As a freelance Web and Graphic Designer I'm fortunate to deal with a variety of clients, and do lots of cool stuff. Whether it's a simple job like creating a flyer, to a complete business re-brand and website, it's always satisfying seeing a happy customer. (Check out their comments)
Community & Local Business
I'm passionate about Supporting Local Business and getting involved in local initiatives. Living in a small community gives me the opportunity to offer my services and grow my network, while supporting others, so it's a Win Win situation. And it's awesome being part of such a friendly community.
Here's a few of the local initiatives I've been involved with...
Kaikōura Primary School Surfboard Art Sessions
Exhibiting at Kaikōura Eco Art Expo 2019
New website and company re-brand for IWK - work in progress
Being involved with upcoming fundraising event for the rebuild of community swimming pool - work in progress
