ABOUT
Me
Kia Ora
My background includes visual merchandising, event management, graphic and web design and sign writing. After fifteen years working for a large corporate company, I decided to focus on my passion for Art and Design, and develop my own business. Studio Blue NZ Ltd. was launched in early 2013 offering a freelance website design and online marketing service to franchise businesses.
In 2016 I completed a Diploma in Computer Graphic Design at ACG Yoobee School of Design. Following that and keen for a new challenge, I took on two part time roles (Graphic Designer / Marketing Assistant at a North Canterbury winery, and Communications Manager for a nationwide fashion retailer) as well as continuing to support a variety of independent clients as a freelance designer.
After relocating to Kaikoura in early 2018, I worked for a local retail business. I set about building relationships and promoting my services within the local community, and gradually Studio Blue Creative has evolved into what it is today.
I'm proud to have been a provider for the Kaikoura Tourism marketing and implementation funding made available to support local businesses and organizations during 2021 / 2022.

Enjoying the “happiness of being busy.”
While I work full time creating branding and websites in my office/studio, I make sure I allow myself time to pursue my other passions, which include painting, craft and DIY. I love coastal life and a lot of my work is inspired by the beach and the ocean.
As an independent Web and Graphic Designer I'm fortunate to deal with a range of clients, and do lots of cool stuff. Whether it's a simple project like creating a flyer, to a complete brand identity and website package, it's always great to see a happy, satisfied customer at the end.
Making time for my family is also super important, which is why I try to avoid working during the weekends.
Community & Local Business
I'm passionate about Supporting Local Business and getting involved in local initiatives. Living in a small community gives me the opportunity to offer my services and grow my network, while supporting others, so it's a Win Win situation. And it's awesome being part of such a friendly community.
